1. 1. What cookies are

   Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. They help the site work correctly and remember your settings. Besides cookies, the site keeps interface settings (theme, dismissed hints, catalog and map filters) and form drafts in your browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) so you don't lose what you typed. These settings and drafts stay on your device.

2. 2. Necessary cookies

   Required for the site's basic operation: authentication, security and saving your cookie choices. This includes the garag_anon_id cookie - an anonymous identifier we use to store a record of your consent (GDPR requires us to be able to prove consent) and link it to your account on registration. This is not cross-site tracking. Always on and not subject to consent.

   • garag_anon_id - anonymous ID of the record of your consent; also protects the referral programme from abuse, 12 months
   • garag-cookie-consent - remembers your cookie choice, 6 months
   • better-auth.* - signing in and protecting your session, only after you sign in, up to 7 days
   • garag-client-language - interface language, if you chose it in settings, 12 months
   • garag-pending-claim, garag-pending-invite, garag-pending-client-link, garag-pending-estimate - keep an action you started (claiming a workshop, a team invitation, a link with a workshop, an estimate) while you sign up, 1 day
   • garag_admin_verified - second-factor confirmation, platform administrators only, 8 hours

3. 3. Analytics cookies

   Analytics helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Platform analytics currently works without cookies: we don't place any files in your browser for it. It is turned on only after you consent and is off by default: without your consent, no data about your actions on the site is sent to us. The one exception is anonymised catalog statistics: how many times a workshop's card was shown in search and on the map and how many times it was opened. Workshops see these numbers in their dashboard, so they are counted without consent (legitimate interest), but without your IP address, without your search text and without storing anything in your browser. General statistics on traffic and page load speed are collected by our hosting provider Vercel without cookies and without personal data, so they work regardless of your choice.

4. 4. Marketing cookies

   Used to show relevant offers and ads, and for referral attribution - to understand which link or partner you came from. Enabled only with your consent and off by default.

   • garag_attr - where you came from: an ad tag or a referral link, 90 days
   • garag_personal_ref - a recommendation via a Garag user's personal link, 90 days

5. 5. How to change your cookie settings

   You can change your choice at any time: click “Cookie settings” below or in the site footer. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.Cookie settings
